Two-Factor authentication (2FA)

Since mid-January, a new option has been added to the customer account for greater security.

Two-step authentication via SMS, also known as two-factor authentication (2FA) via SMS, is a security mechanism used to enhance the security of online accounts and services by requiring users to provide two separate authentication factors before gaining access to their accounts.

Two-factor factors usually fall into the following categories:

  1. Something you know: This is usually the password or PIN, which is the first authentication factor. Enter this information as you normally would when logging into your account.
  2. Something you have: The second authentication factor is usually something physical that only you have. In the case of SMS 2FA, this second authentication factor is a unique code sent to your mobile phone via SMS. This code is often referred to as a “verification code” or “one-time password” (OTP).

This adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts and helps protect against unauthorised access, we strongly recommend that you activate the setting in your account settings page after verifying that the phone number associated with your profile is correct and valid.
