SMSAlert

Why your own hardware?

Full Control of Your Infrastructure

You are not dependent on carrier rates for sending. Messages go directly from your SIM, through the device at your location — you decide when, how, and how many.

€29

No Hardware Purchase

You don't buy the device — you receive it on loan through the Enterprise plan. You pay a refundable deposit of €29/device, fully recoverable upon return.

Fix

Predictable Monthly Cost

You pay your SIM subscription to your carrier and that's it. Whether you send 100 or 10,000 SMS per month, the cost remains the same.

4G

Modern Connectivity

The device operates on the 4G network — the fastest standard available at most carriers. SMS messages arrive quickly and reliably.

Auto

Self-Restarts Automatically

If there was a power or internet outage, the device reconnects automatically and resumes sending. No manual intervention needed.

24h

No SMS Lost

Messages are saved in a queue for up to 24 hours. If there is a temporary interruption, SMS messages are sent as soon as the connection is restored.

OTA

Automatic Updates

Firmware updates automatically over the air. No need to send the device back, nothing to do — it simply stays up to date at all times.

Easy to use

From Zero to Your First SMS in Less Than a Day

No technical knowledge required. No complicated software to install, no servers to configure. You receive the device ready to connect, and the SMSAlert platform does the rest automatically.

1

You Receive the Device

SMSAlert sends you the pre-configured device, included in the Enterprise plan. You pay a refundable deposit of €29, fully recoverable upon return.

2

You Insert Your SIM

Works with any SIM with an active subscription — Vodafone, Orange, Telekom, Digi. The device recognizes the SIM automatically.

3

You Connect to the Internet

Network cable or Wi-Fi — you connect it to your router just like any other device in the office. Done.

4

The SMSAlert Platform Recognizes It

The device automatically appears in your SMSAlert account as a sending channel. You can immediately set routing rules — when to use this device and when to fall back to another channel.

5

You Send SMS via Your Existing API

If you already use the SMSAlert API, you change nothing in your code. If you're new, you integrate once and messages go automatically through your device.

SMS via Carrier vs. Your Own Hardware

Do the math yourself: at an average volume of 5,000 SMS/month, the cost difference is significant.

SMS via carrier
Cost per SMS
~€0.04–0.08
Included in SIM subscription
Cost 5,000 SMS/month
~€200–400
~€10–20 (SIM subscription)
Automatic updates
Automatic fallback to another channel
Send from your own number
Receive replies (inbound)
Full infrastructure control

* Per-SMS prices vary by carrier and volume. This calculation is indicative.

Who Uses SMS Gateway Hardware?

Any business that sends many SMS messages and wants to reduce costs or keep the infrastructure under their own control.

🏥

Clinics & Medical Offices

They send hundreds of SMS daily with appointment confirmations and reminders. The per-message cost adds up quickly — own hardware eliminates this issue.

🏪

Retail & E-commerce

Delivery notifications, order confirmations, promotional codes. With a few thousand orders per month, you save hundreds of euros compared to SMS via carrier.

🏢

Companies with Internal Systems

ERP, CRM, internal alert systems, IT notifications. They send from their company number and receive customer replies directly in the platform.

🔐

2FA Authentication (OTP)

Verification codes at login or payment. High volume, need for guaranteed and fast delivery — local hardware ensures that.

📊

Heavily Regulated Companies

Banks, insurance companies, regulated entities that need their communication infrastructure under their own control, not that of an external provider.

🚛

Logistics & Transport

Route updates, delivery confirmations, driver alerts. High volume, need for optimized cost and reliable delivery even in areas with variable signal.

⚙️

Automations & M2M Systems

Security systems, alarm panels, solar panels, smart meters or any IoT device that needs to send an alert or a report via SMS — without depending on the internet or an external cloud operator. The GSM gateway device becomes the direct link between your equipment and the people who need to be notified.

Integrated into the ecosystem

The device works
with everything you already have

Once connected, the device becomes a channel in the SMSAlert routing chain. You can set your own hardware as the primary option, and if it's unavailable, the platform automatically switches to SMS via carrier or WhatsApp — without losing any message.

All messages sent through the device appear in the same dashboard, with the same delivery status, webhooks and conversation inbox as any other channel.

Routing rule — example
1. Primary Own GSM Hardware fixed SIM cost
↓ if unavailable
2. Fallback SMSAlert Sync (mobil) another own SIM
↓ if unavailable
3. Final SMS prin operator per message

Set it once from the dashboard. The platform decides automatically for every message.

You don't purchase the device. You receive it on loan as part of the Enterprise plan (from €12.99/month) — it remains SMSAlert's property, but you use it at your location. Upon activation you pay a refundable deposit of €29/device, which you recover in full if you cancel the subscription and return the equipment in good condition. There are no hidden costs or purchase fees.

Any SIM with an active subscription and SMS included — Vodafone, Orange, Telekom, Digi or any other. No special subscription or extra activated services needed. If your SIM works in your phone, it works in the device too.

The limit is set by your carrier subscription plan, not the device. The device supports high message volumes — dual core processor and a 24h queue to handle traffic peaks. If you need more volume, you add a second device or combine it with SMSAlert Sync.

The device restarts and reconnects automatically without intervention. Messages that could not be sent are saved in the waiting queue (24h buffer) and dispatched as soon as the connection is restored. Nothing is lost.

Yes. The device also supports inbound — SMS received on your SIM automatically appear in the SMSAlert conversation inbox. Your team can reply directly from the platform, without needing to look at a physical phone.

No. If you already use the unified SMSAlert API, you change not a single line of code. You add the device to the routing rules in the dashboard and the platform uses it automatically according to the priorities you set.
